Hi!

I recently installed a Xenium Ice chip in my xbox. It runs great, but now I can't go into Live games anymore.
When I boot into the Retail Kernel, it would normally go to the Xbox Live section and try to log in. Now it tries to log in but says it can't connect and I get booted into the main xbox dashboard (Where you can select Settings, Music...).
When trying to setup my connection in Settings > Network Settings, I can just select Connect and it tries to look up my IP address and DNS Server and so on, but when this is done I get this error message:

MODIFIED XBOX ERROR
Your xbox console cannot communicate with xbox Live
because the software or hardware may have been modified.

Any ideas on why this happens?

My dashboard: Evolution-X build 3935
My Bios: X2 4983
My xbox Version: v1.0
Extra: I only have XBMC and 1 game installed on my E:\ drive and did not put in a bigger harddrive or format my harddrive with the Xenium OS 2.

you went on live with a modified bios and got your self banned, buy a new eeprom from bst and use config magic to apply the new eeprom (make sure its pal or ntsc) and also make sure your drive is locked.

When in OS2 add a launch item for booting from TSOP so you have full retail compatibility.

I'm absolutely sure I did not go live with a modified/hacked bios, I only tried to access Live with the retail kernel.
And one of the first things I did with my Xenium was adding a launch item for the TSOP and backing up the EEPROM.

I'm absolutely sure you went on live with a modified BIOS or else you wouldn't have been banned!!

Youreally need to turn your chip OFF before you boot up and go into xbox live. The only way you get banned at the moment is going LIVE with a hacked BIOS.

i think only to an extent tho, i think if you keep forcing it it will still be able to connect...or am i wrong?

The bios blocks the live servers entirely. Either ms is finally checking hard drives, or they are checking for an active lpc bus, or he connected to live with the chip on and it for some reason didnt block live.

4980-4983 does not block live updates. So if the ms dashboard wasn't up to date he would be banned even if he was using a bios that is blocking live.

Have you password protected your live account?
Have you disabled auto connect?
