i also think that there are coming 3 emus =)
but i also think that all 3 emus are able to play 16mb roms as well.

some of the games may have some graphical errors but they are playable i think.

its only speculation !!!

I will be honest.

I am not very optimistic about this.  We have been lied to in the past about N64 emus, and we have not seen any real proof yet.  We have some screen shots, which really do not prove anything.  I guess we will find out soon though.

I hope that I am wrong.

Nah i think there DEFINATELY will be one this time...theres too much money for coders not to be tempted...and irez is a respected member of the xbins crew so i have all faith in him...
about the 16mb roms that would be a unexpected pleasure that i haven't even thought about.... i hope there are 3!

And what about ROMs bigger than 16MB?

The Legend Of Zelda - Ocarina Of Time = 32MB
Ready 2 Rumble Boxing Round 2 = 32MB
MegaMan 64 = 32MB
Perfect Dark = 32MB
Ogre Battle 64 = 40MB
Conkers Bad Fur Day = 64MB

And those are only just a few of MANY great games, what about them  sad.gif

EDIT: Oh and i dont think there will be an N64 EMU thats worth talking about for atleast 6 months, though i really do hope im wrong.

I believe in the future releases some 32mb roms will be implemented...but i think 64mb is simply too big for the xbox... until virtual ram!

No one refers to N64 roms in terms of bits. No one says that Mario 64 is 64 MegaBits, they say it is 8 Megabytes ...

N64 roms range from 8 MegaBytes to 64 MegaBytes. or, if you really care, 64 MegaBits to 512 MegaBits ... the only people who ever referred to N64 roms in MegaBits were Nintendo themselves in their early marketing.

Hey quick question, anyone know what extentions these N64 EMUs will support?

*.rom *.v64 *.z64 *.n64

Ive got ROMs in all those formats and i dont want to be able to only play some and not others, so do we know if they support all of them?

IMHO, any n64 emu that plays mario 64 full speed with no grafx errors sound and save states is worth talking about. muhaha.gif  muhaha.gif  muhaha.gif  muhaha.gif

Those extension do mean things, but the emulators these are ported from automatically take care of them.  Some devices swapped bytes in the header for example.

But as my original question asks, does anyone know if the emulators are going to support all those file types?

Sorry, but you are wrong.  It is very common to refer to rom images in terms of Mb instead of MB.

Most emulators list game sizes in terms of Mb, and most rom nfo sites will list game sizes as Mb and not MB.

so please do go out of your way to be too uninformed.   rolleyes.gif

YOU are wrong.  Propaganda from video game companies are mostly the only ones who refer to them in Mbits.  I also haven't seen any emus that list the file sizes, but I'm not saying they don't exist.  I am saying that MOST people and sites will list them in the MUCH more useful and functional MB.  Listing them as Mbits is like going out of your way to confuse people.
