I have never followed this tutoriol, but I know it's possible to create a retail / debug setup on a softmodded xbox. It normally boots into retail mode. You ca launch the phoenix bios loader that comes with the ndure softmod in the ndts folder, and have it launch a BFM debug bios. That bios will launch the debug dashboard. As the debug dash has another name as the retail dash, it can be on the C partition together with that retail dash.
