I dont know anything about xebian, but I know alot about softmods, and if your running evox, in a softmod, your HDD is DEFINATELY LOCKED!  if you unlock it and reboot, your softmod wont work... so be careful what ya do.

if xebian is reporting the drive as unlocked, something is definately wrong.

 hda50 is E DRIVE
 hda55 is F DRIVE
if giving the option, install to F

possibly but I wouldnt think so.
all im saying, is that if you dont have a modchip, then the HDD must ALWAYS be locked before you power down, or you will need a modchip.

Why would it matter if the hard drive is locked when I shut down the Xbox?  When the Xbox is shut down, I have no intention to run Linux... only when it's turned on.

I'm not trying to do a hotswap here or anything...
