So if i have understood that right i have to use normal wires. Five of’ em to rebuild the lpc and one to ground the lframe point to the nearest srewhole?! But where exactly did u guys solder on the lpc? I mean isn’t it hard to solder to the right hole on the lpc when the whole chip is placed there already? Did u just solder to the right header pin that is soldered to the right hole or where? Plz tell me.. I will start to solder in about 15 hours maybe biggrin.gif

Thx for your help one more time!!

U rule!

You know what dennsan.  I'm a pretty patient guy, specially to noobs since I was in that position like one week ago, but man, you make it difficult to help you.

The rest, you can find out yourself when you open your xbox and look at it.  Look at your xbox Mobo closely and than read my tutoral again.  That should help.

I've done enough spoon feeding.

Also, check out this link for pictures of what my soldering looked like.

Ok guys, I tried it last night, and not working =\  Please help!

Here's what I did on my 1.6:

1.  Flashed my X-B.I.T. with M8_16.bin
2.  Did the LPC rebuild
3.  Did the pinheader install
4.  GND D0
5.  Varify all connections with a meter
6.  Turn on my XBox and got flashing Green/Red/Orange on the eject button
7.  Remove the GND-D0 wire and it boots to MS BIOS

Am I doing anything wrong?  I followed all steps and didn't make any connection on Pin 4 of LPC.  What should I do next??  Just to make sure, I don't have to do the EolutionX install before the BIOS right?  Please help!  Thanks!

check out these sites for trouble shooting.  They don't mention much about the orange (or yellow depending on ur opinion) light though.  I've seen that on my console only once and it was when I had the video/sound cable disconnected at the back of the xbox.

Doesn't seem like you did anything wrong though.  Did you verify the bios in the XBIT?  Did you check the USB XBIT chip to make sure you have the switches on the right spot for the bios box?

Hope it helps.  By the way, are you sure is a 1.6v xbox?

And you don't have to have evoX dashboard installed either.  It should boot to the evox bios.

Check your soldering job, make sure is not connecting something else, or over spilled.  Otherwise, i'm out of ideas myself man.  Sorry.

Xenxon: I guess you have some wrong in the LPC rebuild...

You can easy test this by turning off the chip (switch 4) if you get a frag then your  LPC rebuild is properly done smile.gif

else: something is wrong with the flash of M8_16 bios or the chip it self

Thanks Emul2828.  Funny thing is, I didn't put a screw in the hole either and it worked fine for me.  I realized that I didn't place a screw before I installed the modchip and by that time, It was to difficult for me to try to screw one on, specially since the way the modchip was placed on the MB, made it hard to get to the hole.  Glad I was able to help you with the Tutoral.

kmob007 nice guide! Glad your helping others. I also forgot to install that freaking screw to the mb. But hey it works without it and I tossed the screw in my collection of spare parts. I got purchase another ps2, had to get rid of my ver8 with DMS3 chip in it. Had to pay my lawyer some money. Now cant hardly find any where to buy a dms3 for a ps2. Plus it takes me freaking 2 hours or so to install one. May just send it off to get modded. Take it ez bro.

I still think you have something wrong with your LPC rebuild... I havent been able to boot MS bios with a disabled chip (any Chip) connected to the LPC.

GND -> D0 / LFRAME just disables MS-Bios (not the chip)
(note D0 on MB ...not on the chip)

To be Able to boot the MS-Bios i had to destroy the LPC Rebuild (Or have the chip ACTIVE) and no GND connected to D0 /LFRAME
but i guess that having the chip Active is not LIVE secure

PLEASE DONT USE THE PINHEADER INSTALL WITHOUT A FEMALE ADAPTER
(its allmost impossible to desolder it later)

QUOTE (cyberdork33 @ Aug 25 2004, 03:28 PM)
I replaced the header on the chip with a female one, that seemed more feasible... the way it should have been done in the first place...

Where can I get a feamle header for my XBIT?

Do you take the male header off of the XBIT and solder it to the XBOX MB?

- Thanks.

Hi guys !

First, sorry for my bad english i'm just a french guy needs news.

I done everything like Kmob007 and it's work but i can't solder the D0 in the place shows in the PDF. I don't know why but the soldering can't stand... I cheat with a piece fixed with some scotch but i want to solder it...

Can i have some pics of the D0 point from the MB's other side...?
