I have upgraded to a bigger harddrive successfully using UDE.  I am trying to fix up my friend's xbox in a similar way....but im worried that i screwed up his hd by trying to cut corners.
heres what I did:
1) made a backup of my original xbox HD (modified UDE style)
2) restored this backup of my modded OEM drive onto his OEM drive.

now i get the dreaded 'your xbox requires service' screen when i try to boot up his xbox.  are there any reasons for this?  i know his harddrive is still properly locked, i thought a good hard drive image would work on any box.  (his is old, manufactured in 2001).  The only difference i could find in our xboxes is that his has the samsung drive while mine is a WD.
Please help.....im starting to lose it.
