OK - Thanks for the effort though. According to the readme I found 'the usual places' it was a linux source that would generate the key for a specified device as long as the user supplied the eeprom key. Shouldn't be that hard to extract that from a eeprom image. Maybe I need to search the xbox-linux CVS some more.
Should be fairly easy to let hdlock read the pass from a txt file. I havent given up on the hdlock code yet as I think I know howto access the IO-ports in linux now. I will recode the thing i C though - just need the free time
Right now I was working on extending the functionality of the distro. Adding a xbrowser command that will search for xbox C & E partitions, mount these as well as a source CDROM and run the Midnight Commander filebrowser. Need to make a statically linked version though as I the distro would grow if I included a C-development environment in the distro.
This will give the user a semi-graphical tool to browse, copy, rename etc. files on the xbox-drive. A bit like the Norton Commander from the DOS days.
