I wouldn't recommend Gouki's tutorial. It's very old. Try the UDE or DD exploit.

Is this the itools package? i have that on my box but how do i go about getting the xbe for the older dashboard? i'm not familiar with IRC if thats what i have to do...

i don't own an xbox, about to buy one, can't wait any more, i've been reading this forum for a while, and i think the update.xbe is in the slayer 2.5 package, just do a search, u'll have to download it using bit torrent and it's like 100 MB, i'm downloading it rite now.

all the dashes you need is in the 2.5 package.  you can restore the drive and get correct file that you will need.  I am stuck a couple steps past that. lol
