Evox Dash Gone After Replacing Hdd On Softmodded Xbox
« on: February 20, 2006, 12:49:00 PM »

i recently softmodded my 1.6 xbox with ndure 1.1. everything went great.
then, i decided to replace the stock hdd with a 40G WD. i used xboxhdm1.9 to
create a bootable iso with the contents of C: and E: and i put the eeprom that
was backedup during the softmod into the eeprom dir. i burned the iso to a dvd,
connected the new drive to my pc, booted via the xboxhdm dvd, created a new
xbox drive, copied the c: and e: contents to the new drive, rebooted, locked the
drive with the eeprom.bin. now here's the strange part. i replaced the old xbox
hdd with the newly-created one but when i boot the xbox, it goes to the original
m$ dashboard and the led on the front stays green.

what did i do wrong? am i missing a step? i even tried it again with a 200g seagate.
both the 40g and the 200g are reported to be lockable and lockhd doesn't complain.

when i put the original hdd back, it boots into evox like it should.

thanks!
