Frezzing Screen During Gameplay

Qestions..... i know abit about the xbox but not everything. I play games off the hardrive and they keeps on crashing after u've played it for bit it's only when the screens gets bright like prince of persa the 2 thrones when i get to the roof tops or in N.F.S most wanted after getting chases and half life when u get drag thur this bit thats magery white. i think my HDD is a maxitor dimond max 160 G

What program did you use to back the games up with and which version of that program?
