Ok. I Got The X3 In. Now I'm At The Bios...

The tut I I was pointed to shows FlashBIOS 3.0.3. Is this something I should update now?

3.0.1 vs. 3.0.3 is a "which one works better on a 1.6 or 1.6b motherboard" issue.  If it's running, just go ahead and flash via biosdisc or http.

I see that it says 3.0.3 runs slow on 1.6.

....uh oh.........

I just managed to get an error 16.......

But I got back to the Flash BIOS screen afterwards......

I wonder what that means.....

So in order to get the most out of this, do I want to install the X3_3029 Bios, or the EvolutionX M8 Plus?

Error 16 is not much fun.  Hope you have a friend with a modded box, or at least get a good flash that will get you past the clock error….

And you need to flash the X3 BIOS before you do nearly anything else.  Make sure you’re using the X3_3029_v16plus.bin for a 1.6 mobo.

Good luck.

I use FlashBIOS 3.0.0.0 and it works fine for me on my 1.6 with X3. Thankfully the X3 has a backup BIOS for when things like this happen.

I think I figured out what the error 16 was.

I had an empty HDD hooked up.

But why am I getting that message in that picture I posted? It won't accept the BIOS.

wink.gif  And you do have the right version of the X3 bios, from #xbins, right, and not some dodgy source?

Check out the FlashBIOS guide for more info.

Yeah, that's set right.

One question though. (and I tried to search for the answer already....no dice)

What does that wheel on the chip do?
