Do you have an Ohm Meter? If so, that is a very useful tool to tell if you have good connections or not.
You didn't tell me if you can hear the Hdd spinning or not!!

How bout this. Take the cover off your xbox. If the hd spins up you should feel it vibrating a little.

I would statr by double checknig the connections. Make sure the jumper on the back of the HD is set to cable select. Or at least is still there.... Maybe it fell off. Failing that try a new IDE cable. They can't be more then a few bucks at a computer store or best buy.

If you fear it may be a solder thing check the solder points and look for overlapping spots. Go get a soldering wick and soak up the excess if you need to.

what do you think, I can not find a small soldering tip anywhere. I am going to take a needle and tie it to the current tip that I have so it can conduct heat. This way, I have a tiny tip to try to work with. Good idea or bad?

This is probably a really stupid post, but you have flashed some kind of bios on your chip right? If not, then I'm not surprised the xbox won't start. If you have, please ignore what I just wrote
I figured out that issue. My dumb ass dropped a splat of solder onto the MB so it was connecting quite a few points. I removed.
No, I did nothing to the chip at all. I thought it was supposed to be ready to go. It is an Aladdin advance+.
Do I need to do something else?

Flash bios first. Most chips don't come with anything but Cromwell on itfor legal purposes.

Here's a decent thread dealing with flashing that chip.....
http://forums.xbox-s...opic=194458&hl=
If you searched, or even kept all your posts in one thread instead of the 5-10 you have going in different sections it would be MUCH easier to figure out what's going on.

If my chip is correctly installed, solder points and all, what is my Box supposed to do the first time I turn it on?
