Thats not it because I used the video cable last night on my sisters XboX. Thats not the problem...Plus the xbox turns on and off and on then blinks orange..

EDIT: PLUS when the video cable is not plugged in it blinkd GREEN/ORANGE, not JUST orange.....I'm getting a feeling it might be motherboard related,  but the weird thing is, I have already looked around at the motherboard and it looks like its in PERFECT condition...

i had this problem a few weeks ago
i did some searching and found out that MY XBOX WAS FRIED!!!

then i said, well fuck, if it is fried then im screwed so i opened it up and removed my dvdrom and hdd.  checked all solder points and they were fine
made sure everything was plugged in correctly and they were

i put everything back together and viola, it works now, no problems since

i have a x2 chip and i am using most recent bios

try tinkering with stuff but not moving anything around too much, if that dont work then you are where i was, with a FRIED XBOX...i hope i am wrong about that part though

Hm...maybe I should try to uninstall/reinstall my chip...?

Check any and ALL solder points, get a magnifying glass, look for tiny tiny bits of solder ANYWHERE they shouldnt be

then, go to Radio Shack, and if you dont already have desolering braid and a low wattage soldering iron, get them. desoldering braids are amazing, but require patience. I splashed sodler all over an LPC chip in my PSone while trying to install a modchip, and the desolering braid saved my life

dose the dvd tray come out try to boot the evox cd, and check the file names.

Did you read the post hump?

1) I HAVE plugged everything in, and its all secure..
2) There is no audio/video
3) I uninstalled my chip
4) Checked over the board a thousand times, no solder splashes, or broken traces...

cVoid I know your were just trying to help, but I'm not a dumb nubie, I'm not stupid enough to not try that. dry.gif I have narrowed it down to the mobo, but I don't know what the problem is with the Mobo Roar...but yes, I will try the other forum. wink.gif
