If you've got Prassi up and running, there is no need to use xISO.  Just start a new CD and add the files from the DVD that you copied over.  Tell it to burn a UDF 128 8.3 bridged (worded different, but you'll see it) and it should be fine.  You'll also be able to read it in your PC.

As long as you burn the disc using the UDF 128 8.3 Bridge filesystem, you should be set.  The xbox will be able to see the data on the disc.

London12356, the reason most things are in ISO is thats how they come down the wire, be it on IRC or on usenet. its just a file format that represents the image of a disc. You dont have to use Xiso, you can just burn all the files you copied from D on your box onto a dvd or cd using prassi dvd, just make sure you set the filesystem to "UDF up to 128 chars" etc etc, its the top one on the pull down menu.

london, i'm not sure if you can do it directly from the dvd burner, so i will leave that to someone else to answer, but if you do have a modded box you can just use the evox dashboard along with xiso to rip the files from your xbox dvd drive to your pc then burn those files to dvd.  sorry if this isn't the newest or most efficient way, but it is easy.  hope this helps.

You have to set up a newwork between your xbox and your pc, only the xbox dvd drive can read the game disc.

Set up the ftp using EvoX and FlashFtp, theres plenty of tutorials for this part. Transfer the contents of the game disc from d: on the xbox across the newtwork to your pc HDD. From there you can make an iso and burn the image.

QUOTE (London12356 @ Sep 11 2002, 11:52 AM)
hi some of my questions may be answered on the site and i have picked up a few tips - basically i wanna copy an x box game to my pc hard disc and then burn it on to my dvd recorder and then play it !!!

can someone confirm i have all the necessary tools

1) i have xISO - so i presume you create the ISO? from the game itself (in the dvd drive of my pc) and then create it on the hard disc?

2) then use Prassi DVD2.0 to burn the ISO onto the DVD?

3) then play it on my chipped x box as i would  normally ?

is there anything else i need to do? grateful for any help

apologies if this is replicated elsewhere

Dean from London

Here's the condensed out of the gate version of how to create an XBOX backup.

Creating an XBox game from a Rip without using xISO
1- Extract the XBOX files to the PC
2- Start either PrimoDVD or Stomp Recordnow Max
3- Close wizard if it starts
4- Start a data CD/DVD
5- Select add files
6- Select the TOP level of the directory where you have your file
ie: Backed up in a "NFL2K3" in a folder at D:\NFL; Select that folder
7- Right-click on the folder and select "modify folder on disc"
8- Select "root", then "OK". This will place all files on the root rather then in the dir selected
9- Right-click on the folder again and select "options"
10- Select the following:
a- Disk at Once(dao), Closed: File system/Recording type
   b- Udf-Upto 128 in file name length,any character,plus 8+3(bridge)
c- All other stay on default
      1c- Mode1: Mode type
11- Start burn
