Finding the right folder in E:\UDATA and E:\TDATA

This is just a simple tutorial I wrote to help you find the right gamesave folder on your xbox.

Things you will need:
- A PC (duh!)
- A copy of the .xbe of the game (or app) that you want to find the save of (for this tut, I will be using Halo’s default.xbe)
- CXBX (get it here: http://www.caustik.com/cxbx/)
- FTP connection to your Xbox

First, get CXBX from the above link and extract it to a folder on your PC

Open up CXBX. It will look like this:

Select FILE > Open XBE. You can then browse your PC HD for your  .xbe.
After it’s loaded, it should look something like this (except the name of the game/app will differ from mine since it’s not the same .xbe):

Select Edit > Dump XBE info To… > File…
A window will pop-up asking you where you want to save the generated text file.
Save it where you wish.

You can then open up that text file in the text editor of your choice.
Scroll down until you find Dumping XBE Certificate...

You should see something like this:

You are looking for the line called Title ID (which I highlighted above). You will then see a HEX address; mine is 0x4D530004. This is the important part. Each app/game has a different title ID. Now, you can forget about the 0x part so you should be left with something like 4D530004. This will be the folder where you game/app’s save will be located if it has one.

For example, the title ID for Halo (as seen above) is 4D530004 so the save folder for Halo is located in E:\UDATA\4D530004\. If the game in question has Xbox LIVE downloadable content, it should be located in E:\TDATA\4D530004\.

Thank you so much for this program!!!  Seriously, I've been looking for a way to identify Xbox save file numbers forever.  Much better than going through the MS Dash as I can xfer from one xbox to another much faster and easier especially with KotOR.

i'm glad you like the tut but i didn't create CXBX if that's what you meant. i have no affiliation with the creators and i won't take credit for their amazing work. i just merely compiled some info on how to use it to locate the right save folder.
