How Do I Resize Massive Pictures?
« on: April 26, 2004, 07:26:00 PM »

.. because no one likes looking at 2400x1600 pictures from a nice digital camera on an 800x600 screen!

5-Step MS Paint Resizing Procedure:

1. Find a file

2. Right Click > Open With > Paint

3. In MS Paint: Image > Stretch/Skew (or CTRL-W as a keyboard shortcut)

4. Stretch the image down to a reasonable size. Enter 50% for both values to start off, and see how it looks.

5. What was once a huge image is now slightly less huge! Use File > Save As to save, so you don't overwrite the original large file, then upload it and post it!

PowerToys Image Resizer

A better solution, if you are running Windows XP, is downloading Image Resizer as a part of Powertoys.. it is available here:

(replace MS with "microsoft" in the URL!!)

You can right-click an image in Windows Explorer to resize it using this utility... fast and easy.
