I'm new - just joint a week ago, so I didn't realize this went to a second page (can you believe it?) I just figured that out now. Anyway, the bios I got was X2 5035. I also didn't know the file came in a .rar file. How do I "un-rar" it.

download the bios .rar file to your desktop. it should show up as an icon with like books binded together. double click and WinRAR will open up and show the contents of the .rar file. drag the x2_5035_vOld_512k on your computer and then onto the jump drive. and then proceed flashing as the iceguide instructs.

I got the file. It didn't show up as a stack of books. i right clicked and hit add to archive. It then  showed up as a stack of books. I found the file in there and it was no longer .rar. I copied it to the flash drive, then tried putting it on the xbox. It still said file won't fit. How big should this bios file be onthe computer. I heard a bios was about 256 Kb and I'm getting 32 Kb on disk under properties. it is also a .torrent file. Does that mean anything?

there should be 2 .bin files and an .ini file. and some readme's. and no torrent file.

make sure WinRAR setting looks like this. integrate into shell.

delete the file you downloaded and download a fresh copy. it then should show up as books without you doing anything to it.

I am having serious trouble finding a good BIOS. All i can find are the torrent files. On this site, are you allowed to offer any suggestions on how to find it? Also, after I get the BIOS working, what additional software would I need to back up my Xbox games to the HDD?

i just downloaded it and there is no torrent files. you must be doing somehthing wrong. i cant tell you anymore other than you have to get it from xbins. make sure you integrate WinRAR into shell before downloading again.

use DVD2Xbox also found on xbins.

I found the bios section on Xbins. The only ones listed were: Complex, Cromwell, Domination X, Enigmah X, Evolution X, OzXbios, Pandora, TEam- Assembly, Xecuter2, and Xtender. No X2 5035. No Xodus related bios at all. Am I A.) Blind. B.) In the wrong section. or C.)wrong site (it's Xbins.org isn't it?)

By the way, Emulators are the programs that let you play old NES & Atari games right?

the bios doesnt have to be xodus related.

i cant help with anymore other than follow the xbins guide in my sig. sorry

lets get a bios flashed first. and worry about other things later.

I found the X3 3294. It seemed like it might be a more advanced version of the X2 5035. I put it on my xbox and it works- well, sort of. I tried launching it and the Xbox just FRAGed. Is there something I can do to get the bios to work, or should I just try a different one. (Hey, I got about 2 or 3 dozen to choose from on xbins).
