Sounds like the update didn't take.  Suggest re-trying the update.

Also, it is reccomended to do updates from CD, not harddrive.

i still get the blank screen, but now i cant even get to my dashboard because when you install the 2.0.0 os it deletes all the bios you had on it. and now there is no way to reflash it.

im thinking about just buying a new xenium ice

QUOTE (GreenJellyBean @ Dec 17 2004, 12:27 AM)
will the rocover switch scan for the recover.bin in the dvd drive?

You might need to disconnect the HD first. XOS used to scan the HD before the CD/DVD.

If you can still get to the recovery, there is still hope.

It should take from CD before it does from HDD (i recall, i think)
If it still wont take from CD, try dummying up the cd, also try using dvd's.

If all else fails, see if you can get a buddy who has a modded xbox to let you use it, a non 1.6 xbox.

Its recommended for HD upgrade/recovery to hav the HD unlocked!

PS. XOS looks for DVD-Rom first and then HD

Actually, not sure if this was mentioned but on the 1.6 you won't see any video while your chip upgrades.

When I have a hard time upgrading a chip to a new OS I make sure I disconnect the IDE cable from the HD.

Also, they usually release two bios', one will recover your chip to factory condition ie; wipe out your bios'.  The other should only upgrade the chip and not delete any bios on the chip.

I didn't even know there was a 2.0.2 that came out, I am just finally getting chips that already have the 2.0.1...lol.

well i must be doing something wrong when i try to use the cd recovery method because it isnt installing. i downloaded the file and extraced it and burned the .iso onto a cd. that didnt work. then i opened that same iso file and took out the rocovery.bin and dummy.bin and used xiso and burned that onto a cd. that didnt work either. could someone tell me what i am doing wrong?
