Oh, I did more reading and I noticed that they have solder. I should just remove solder in ALL the holes?

The points are soldered and you have a version one, but if you are using a solderless adaptor you do not need to desolder the points.

I am using the solderless adapter. I don't have to do anything? I don't need to put the rivets in or anything? I just leave it there?

Okie dokie then. I shall try that.

IMO if you are gonna take the time to remove the solder from the holes, you may as well install the pinheader and solder the chip in so you won't have problems with it later on.

I actually just received my modchip in the mail. Already have the pin header soldered to the board, so all I need to do is burn my dashboard to a disc and get everything set up. Should be a fun night.

Anyways, good luck with your mod Kev.

P.S. Just curious, but where are the FXB guys hanging out now?

I had a weak connection, so I am trying to desolder the LPC ports with braid...how does it work?

I hold the soldering iron above the braid and press down, but it is only sucking a little at a time. Can someone give me advice? I can't get it all out of the hole.

Put a little flux on the lpc, then put a little bit of solder on the iron (just a little) and put the braid over the hole and hold the iron so that the braid is touching the solder to be removed then touch the iron to the braid and the solder will flow up the braid.  Once it stops flowing, remove the iron, cut off the used part and repeat until its gone.

use a desoldering bulb. Buy them at radio shack and such, it's next to impossible with desoldering braid.
