It could be the wrong bios for that xbox. You can try holding the eject and power buttons at the same time to power on the xbox and see if it loads flash bios that way. If that does not work you can try to hotswap the chips to reflash the one that has no video

Thanks for the reply. When you say it could be the wrong bios for that xbox, does that mean it could be ok for a different version, like a 1.0 or 1.1?

Thanks for the suggestion, it seemed to do the trick. I installed it in a 1.6 and now have video.

There is a new issue though. When I turn it on by pressing the power button it only works very occassionally, the majority of the time the chip is not enabled (front switch is red) and I get an error 5. However, if I press the eject button it starts up fine every time. Any idea what is causing this?
