When I bought this I was under the impression that I would be able to teach the X3IR what IR freq., I wanted to correspond with each function on a standard Xbox remote. So I could just use my TV remote to control the Xbox as a normal OEM Xbox remote.

...apparently this isn't the case. The only function you have the ability to program to any IR freq, is the power button.

I just downloaded an installed the IR codes for the OEM Xbox remote (onto my Pronto), and none of the commands work. (like controlling the cursor from within XBMC).

....does this thing not act as a DVD Dongle?

no, just powers the xbox on or off, you still have to use the dongle... or hardwire the dongle
