5v wire to power the chip, don't know where or how it'll connect to the mobo though.

Its exactly the same as the sp adapter, which imo is a bad way of getting the alt 5v.  Its basically a splicer that cuts into the 5v line going to the hd.  The downside of this is that if you screw it up you can cause a short and possibly blow out your hd, or just severly damage the line itself.  I didn't like when xodus thought of this and I don't like that xecuter is doing it.

i dont understand, how is insulating what looks like a normal wire, with a huge plastic case gonna be of any help, im suprised that thing cant power the whole xbox itself.

if you were to use the solderless adapter for the 1.6 i would atleast solder the alt 5v wire..lol

This is from my kit from a class. It's used with an oscilloscope. looks like the same thing.

Would I trust it to stay put in an xbox? I don't trust solderless mods anyway.

It probably doesn't splice or cut anything, I'd say it just uses a spring to hold itself on to the voltage regulator on the motherboard.
