I need either a wire or pin-header installation guide for a 1.6 xbox.

Tutorials that I have been pointed in the directino of already, aren't specifically for the x2.6 & the 1.6.

Can anyone point me in the direction of what I am looking for?

Hope this helps. Take out the motherboard and do these wires firts.

Once done with those, flip board over and do these.

This method hasent failed me yet, and i rather to do it this way instead of the lpc

rebuild then using header pins.

Thanx alot. I've installed the x2.6 on my 1.0 board, and the wire install was hella easy and didn't give me any trouble.

So I'll probably do the wire install that PrinceVegeta978 mentioned.

Purple Dino- Is the installation for the X3 chip on a 2.6 mobo the exact same as for the x2.6?

Hi Vegeta..

i was wondering if you ever encountered this before.. i was modding one of my friends 1.6b (brown wire, hynix ram) with your wire installation tutorial.. 2.6 works fine with M8_plus_16 bios.. but when i disable the chip.. i get 2 reboots and frag, any clue on your experience would be awsome..

Where do I solder the grey wire if I'm using the LPC rebuild PCB?

you solder the d0 to the d0 solder pad on the rebuild board if that's what your using.

sweet, i'll have to try this.  See, what happened is i was throwing a mod in for my sister and i got a used box, cause i've done one LPC rebuild before and it worked great, but i wanted to avoid it if i could.  So i get this one, it was a 1.0 but thing thing didn't work right, so i took it back and got a new one, cause that was the only used they had.  I tried using the LPC rebuild board but it was fragging with that, so i was just like, screw it, i'll just do a wire rebuild.  Well, in my effort to get it off, even with a solder pump, i lifted a pad, riped a trace and lifed a ring, the trace i could fix easy, and i got the box working as it should be, but no matter what i do with the rebuild i can't get the thing not to frag with the chip on.  I think it's cause that ring i lifted, so before i take it back to the store (i got this one at wall mart, not questions asked on returns)  i want to try this method and see if i can get it working.  I know the chip is fine, so i'll let you know how i make out.
