X2 Pin Header Or 10 Wire Plug?
« Reply #1 on: January 02, 2003, 11:46:00 AM »

I wanted to make sure my solder connections were solid so I removed the mobo and stuck the stripped wires through the holes and soldered them from the rear of the board, gently drawing the wire back through the hole about 1/10mm to pull some liquid solder with it to ensure a full-on bond.

That worked anyway - and I used the alternate D0 - even though I had tried the front of the board the solder bond felt so flimsy...  Rather than encouter problems later I removed it and used the alternate D0 on the rear of the mobo.

use the pin-header if you think you'll ever want to upgrade the chip.. it'll make it much easier to replace.
