Installing Chip Over A Softmod?

Hello all,
 I was just wondering if installing a spidergx on a softmoded 1.0 box is creating some of my problems..I have all 5 blue leds lit up but im getting nothing but a black screen and red green flashing error leds.Im willling to work my ass off to get this thing to work so any feedback will help all of us in the long run, thanks.
