That will work, I've already done 3 like that for the same reason. Seems that the spiderwire pcb doesn't make a good connection to the chip pcb.

I take it you have a 1.6. this is on the underside of the mobo. Solder a wire from the point marked D0 on the diagram to the D0 on the chip
