Kallidoan,

What size bios are you using ?

Have you tried changing the switch settings from left left left to right right right for A B and C ?

Have you tried auto for the boot setting on the switches ?

As from my previos screenshot, I am using all to the right or all 0.  I have tried Auto, and I get the same result.

Take a look at currently available Spider Chip 1.1 instructions  for wire placement on your version.  The guide may not work so you will have to place them manually.  I just got a flashlight, magnifying glass, and tweezers to help me.

Post any progress/troubles you have as Spider Gx has not released a manual or provides any support to email requests.

Kallidoan,

I thought of something else .... the controll panel has the ABC buttons on it and there are for picking the bank and there is an option for flash !

Try setting to switches to flash A=on B=off C=off . I don't know what way is on or off so maybe try flashing both from disc and network flash with the switches like this ...

A left
B right
C right

And then try flashing with the switches this way !

A right
B left
C left

Hey Kallidoan,

Check this pic and see what legs the new spider is going into ! there are 5 wires that need rebuilding plus LFRAME ( D0 ) so 6 is normal !  no mystery anymore !

See if you can track down which points you have legs in and let me know !

The green wire could be going to another point not shown to reconnect the 3.3v

I would recomend it if you have the time to figure it out. its a good idea, but I think they threw it out real fast.

BY THE WAY<  INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS ARE ON THE www.spidergx.com NOW IN THE MANUALS SECTION> GO INTO IT AND THEN CLICK ON THE LITTLE FOLDER TO DOWN LOAD.

I installed my chip, I had to cut off 5 wires, and only use the d0 wire.   everything lights up if I hold the chip down, but...

When its in the on postion it does the 3x frag thing, if i turn it off, then it boots into by normal bios and dashboard.

Anyone help?? maybe the little wheel things not right?
Maybe the screw hole is not alighned right? it does sit a little off.

Im not giving up on it yet, brcause I emailed the spider gx people 2 days ago and got a reply this morning
I'd say there doing a little better

I have one new spider gx and i have installed it. Flashed it. And now, I use it. That work very fine.
If you check on the manuel on the www.spidergx.com you can see that your "mystery" pin is only D0.
On the pcb with the wires you have 2 wire D0.
It's easy to understand. All the other wires (5) are used for xbox 1.6 only.
And the "mystery" wire, is used for the other version wich don't use the other wires.
So if you have one 1.6 xbox you must cut the mystery pin.

If you play with this wire, and you try to flash. You say it's doesn't work.
Of course. If you place this wire on the bad place, the spider will be disabled and after the flash can't work, and in more you can damage it if you don't follow the installation manual of the website.

After you flash the bank1 and no work.
Here too. After flash the bank1 and >END appear, that mean you have successful flashed your spider. If you want use the bank1 you have 2 ways:
1- set the switch to bank1. (OFF-OFF-OFF-ON)
on the switch 0 mean OFF (need to put the switch on the bottom (connector side).
2- set the switch to auto (OFF-ON-ON-ON) and then set in the spider OS bank1 in the autoboot menu.

For me all work very fine. Even the 512KB bios of xecuter work fine when flashed on bank3.
I have a xbox 1.6.

If you can see the spider os start, no need to tuch again your wire or installation. That want say all is very well installed.
If after flash that frag 3x, that mean OR your bios is not compatible with the version of your xbox OR the switch are not on the good position to use the bank you choose to place your bios.

i got mine to finally boot up, but when it boots into the Os screen, the xbox controll will not work. its not a MS controll and I have heard sometimes this could be a problem. do u think it will work any better if I switch controlls ( i currently dont have any MS controlls)

Yes Jitster is correct. You NEED to use a genuine MS Controller or a Genuine MS DVD remote and dongle !
