Just planning to recase my xbox (smartxx fitted :-D ) and was wondering if it was possible to use some of the LCD connector pads for controlling whether case lighting was on or off.
Was thinking of using the LCD backlight pins along with an optoisolator to switch the power for the lighting on/off. Just need to know what voltage/current is available of the LCD backlight pads ?
Also is it possible to turn the backlight on/off from XBMC or other dash 
Someone also told me that the back light was adjustable brightness ?? if so can this be controlled from XBMC or other dash if it can i will redesign the power switching circuit to use this.

Using the PWM-out for normal LED's is possible.
The PWM-out pulles to Ground with a fixed frequenzy, the Pull not Pull rate can be set in the OS (Backlight setup in the X-LCD menu).
PWM-out can sink about 700mA (max).
