Help Reading A Bios File From Chip
« on: January 10, 2006, 05:07:00 PM »

I have a bios file on my first box that I'm quite fond of.  I'd like to copy that .bin off of my x-bit 1.5 to use on another box.  I know it's flashed to bios 4--but I don't know which bank it's on.

Initially I figured that it would only allow me to perform the "Read" function on a bank/bios combination that actually has a bios file on it, but it goes through the process (quite slowly I might add) regardless of what bank and bios I select it to read from.

I'm trying to avoid going through this on each bank (since it takes so damned long to read a 256k file) and doing this trial and error.  Is there a way to know which bank a bios is flashed to?

Makes no sense to me

Why dont you just download the bios again, it would be easier than messing about with the DMS software which seems to be full of bugs, and extremely slow.
