Solderless Xbit For 1.6?
« on: December 26, 2004, 09:18:00 PM »

I have installed a few Xbit chips in the past with no problems.  I have always done the solderless way.  Now I am reading that this will not work with the 1.6 Xboxes.  My brother wants me to mod him an Xbox and I don't know which chip to get now.  Is there an Xbit chip in the works for this or is there another brand that would work solderless?  I have never done any soldering and would prefer to keep it that way if possible.  Thanks.

Probably not...You can either buy the Spiderchip (wait for a few days because a new version is going to be released) or wait for SmartXX to release their solderless solution for the v1.6 Xbox..and gawd knows when that will be...

In that case, is there an easy way to make sure any Xbox I buy is not a 1.6?  I need to buy a new one, but would much rather stick to what I know.  Thanks.
