(newbie) Need Some Help
« on: July 03, 2004, 09:37:00 AM »

If you have not noticed, there is two forums for people like you:

Newbie Forums -> FAQ

Newbie Forums -> Newbie Chat

Sorry for my rude attitude, but I'm quite fed up with newbies filling X-Bit forum with "descriptive" topic titles like "Help me" or "What to do next?". And guess what, those topics even don't have anything to do with X-Bit.

Just assuming that you have a working Modchip I'm not sure
how you would gain FTP to transfer EvoX to you HDD.
Chances are you can't!

You're going to need to go tho the 'Usual Places' to find a Bootdisk.
Beit for EvoX or Avalunch. Slayers 2.5 is a well known Distro. in
the scene. The only problem is it'seriously outdated. Ex. XBMC
replaces the defunct. XBMP. But, on the whole it's enough to get
the job done. The other Bootdisk 'Firef*ckers' is more up to date.
but, I have personaly never used it. But there are both Evox Bootdisks!

So you're gona have to burn these to a Disc. Prefably a CD-RW as almost
all XBOX'es can read'em. This is not true for CD-R's though. So you could
try it but, it (the XBOX) would probably reject the Disk you could also just
burn it to a DVD-R (+-) usualy make no difference. But, alas this is all
dependent on you personal XBOX DVD Drive. But, I never heard of anyone
complaning about CD-RW compatablity.
