I've installed the X Bit and I'm 99% certain I've seated it correctly on the d0, as I've checked it many times.
The dip switches are correct, with stealth mode off. I've checked all the cables, and have a confirmed to work bios.
Everytime I try to write to a 256k bank, it finishes properly. However, when I try to verify, it stops at 230 kbytes and tells me, "File contents do not match."
I have no idea what to do now. I believe that the chip is from a bad batch because I've seen many other people with the same problem. I would like to exchange the chip, but the seal has been broken and I don't think modchipman will give me a refund.
EDIT:
Just talked to kfree from modchipman's live support and he suggested Slot 6 Bank 1..
Verified just fine, now I just have to load up a dashboard
