I flashed XBIT in slot 6:
Bios6(256k) - 4977_blue_256k.bin
Bios5(256k) - 4977_red_256k.bin
Bios4(256k) - 4977_silver.bin
Bios3(256k) - M7_Blue.bin
Bios2(512k) - M7_yellow_512k.bin
Bios1(512k) - M7_Red.bin

The DVD-ROM drive has nothing to do with the xbox loading the BIOS. I have a thomson as well, so I know it's not that...plus you're not loading anything through the DVD-ROM when trying to load the BIOS.

That's the setup that I have, if you need any of them, and want to set it up like myself, and you can't find those BIOSes then i can e-mail them to you.

So what you're saying is that the xbox isn't detecting the BIOS? sounds like you might want to reclean/realign your chip or flash the banks so you know one of them will work..make sure you have the dipswitch set to the proper bank as well.

scraping the d0 isn't by any means a last resort...just lightly scrape it with a small screwdriver or something, then clean it with some alcohol/lighter fluid...

Just because the Green light on the external board is on doesn't mean the pins are getting the best connection.

As for the files I'll email them to you in a sec, but i need your e-mail address.  wink.gif

OK Guys EDIT:

Bios6(256k) - 4977_blue_256k.bin
Bios5(256k) - 4977_red_256k.bin
Bios4(256k) - X2_4977_FC_BluePurple_R_256k.bin
Bios3(256k) - X2_4977_MultiVer_FC_256.bin
Bios2(512k) - M7_yellow_512k.bin
Bios1(512k) - M7_Red.bin

Turns out I was having quite a hassel getting SlaYers to format my 120GB hd.  After purchasing DVD-R's and it still wasn't right, I was told that I needed the FC BIOS (currently using the 4th BIOS(X2_4977_FC_BluePurple_R_256k.bin)) AND SUCCESS!! I am now running EvoX.

Getting ahold of X2_4977_FC_BluePurple_R_256k.bin wasn't too easy, couldn't find it on xbins, so I had to extract SlaYers auto-installer with Qwix1.0 to find the BIOS.

I am now a satisfied modder! jester.gif

Thanks SlaYer, SS113, Scotsman, BigZ and the rest of the SlaYer's crew for your help!

beerchug.gif ...that's what the forums are for.

Yes cleaning the pins and lightly scraping the d0 before installation SHOULD NOT be overlooked...it will ENSURE best connectivity!

Feels good to help out another modder...and I learn more when doing so.
