do you KNOW that it's because of the d0, or do you think it could've been a mishap in the flash, or a problem with the dipswitch set to the wrong bank?

You just have to ground the D0 point , one cable from D0 to the metal case that's it.

It would be great if we knew what version your Xbox is..........

It's my understanding that you should not need to soilder the D0 point unless it is a 1.4 or 1.5 version. Have you determined what version it is? If so, please post the version info!
