I think 1.5 requires EvoX M7. Worth a try.

There might a problem with the modchip installation, however it seems very unlikely since you're booting fine with EvoX BIOS. Maybe there's something wrong with your drive. But that seems unlikely as well, since DVD-R movies work. It's a mystery

Are you sure EvoX D6 boots fine? On second thought, DVD-R movies should probably work without a modchip. Try changing the Xbox logo color with XBtool and see if the modchip is really active.
