Exellent install tutorial!
I had done several matrix installs and i have just successfully done my first xbit install on a
v1.3. As always I prepared myself thoroughly and thanks to all the excellent info out there
I was up and running in 5-10 minutes, including installing a new WD 120GB HD smile.gif

I have a few comments I think might be useful to some:

1) The 'seal' was hard to break for me. I didn't want to use too much force, so I just made two
tiny cuts in both places where the seal is connected to the main board. Made breaking the chip a lot
easier.

2) I would recommend using xbtool to adjust the bios so that it has a colored logo. That way there's
no way you could be mistaken from what bios the xbox boots. Especially when aligning this is a big help.
As soon as you see the colored X, you'll know you're good to go.

That's it smile.gif

Im confused. Why open the XBOX first if we are going to flash it first before installing it in the XBOX?

no real need to...just so you don't have to let the chip sit out without xbox opened wink.gif

What is the d0 and what does it look like? How do I know if the spike is in it?

Thanks

to know if the spiked pin is in it, hold it real close at a slant to a bright light, and then place it in d0.

you must first flash the chip (with M7 if you want)

Then that tells your xbox you can run unsigned discs by MS. Then you install evox (using slayers if you like), THEN you install your apps or what you will.

Some people don't opt for a bigger hd. the stick with the retail 8( or 10, somehwere around there)GB hd.  Most however get between an 80 or 200. I think most people use a 120....again, it's what all you wish to store on it..

Ah Ok, so the M7 is just flashing, then I use Evox. is EvoX is an ISO file that I burn to DVDR? If so, what version should I use. V1.0 XBOX soon to be with XBIT.

Thanks alot bud!  beerchug.gif
