I burnt the latest .8 beta version of evox onto a cd-rw (sony brand), and when i try to load the cd... it will just sit there for a long time waiting to load, and it does load to the main dashboard (not evox), but doesnt have any error that it cant read it!! did i burn it wrong?? if so what are the exact files that need to be on the cd-rw?

also how can you tell what version xbox you have??

Oh, and this thread is completeley worthless on a 1.5, cause you have to solder some wires

I was told that the X-Bit is a full solderless solution to Xbox version 1.5... Am I incorrect or do I need to solder a wire or two.. also...  if so doesn anyone have any diagrams?

not sure about the preb with the fragging with the chip in place, somewhat more concerning isthat you say it still doesn't work if you remove the chip.

Removing the chip should put everything back the way it was, f it doesn't then you have a prob with your box somehow sad.gif this is assuming you havn't made any changes to the hdd file system yet.

Eeeeerm, you do have to put the original screw back in if you want to remove the chip tho!!

Once your sure you have not got a botched xbox try again.

It sounds like either a bad flash or bad alignment.

what about my led problem?

are you saying that the LED does not light when you plug it in? the LED should not light when flashing, formatting, or verifying.

It SHOULD light up when you plug it in, but should go out as soon as you start sending/receiving any data to/from the chip. So if this isn't the case and if it's also the case that the led does not come on when the chip is in the xbox with stealth mode OFF, then it seems maybe yur chip/led is faulty.

Hmmm, i thought you had to solder the 1.5, but someone earlier said you don't need to.

The screw is the earth.

Just yesterday I did a solderless install on  my friends 1.5 has no problems, took about 7 min to get it flashed and installed...took me an hour and a half to install on my 1.0...but hey, that was my first solderless install.

Did you put your dip switches in the correct position?

I am having the same problem also but so far only tried the solderless install.....if I can flash the BIOS without any problem, the modchip would likely NOT BE DAMAGED or could it be?

Spent 3-4 days already without any success.  The dip switches are good.

I know it's a problem with the alignments of the D0 pin because I keep getting the normal XBOX dashboard screen when the chip is ON.

Just wish I could find someone in Ottawa be able to install it for me.   uhh.gif
