I didn't do anything.  The reason why it flashes like that is because Xbit isn't installed correctly.  if you remove it you will see that it will stop.

And just to let you know, I still haven't gotten my Xbox and Xbit working correctly.

So if you figure it out let me know.

can a seasoned veteran verify that the blinking red-green when the chip is activated can be related to a flash problem? i have that problem too and i am pretty sure my soldering is good. another question i have is whether or not the xbox would boot without an evo x boot iso or other "boot" type disk when the chip is activated and installed correctly...? that is....if the chip was working, and the bios was right, you could flip the power button on the xbox and it would load like usual with a different boot screen without the need of a boot disk?

thanks

QUOTE (Ph34rMe @ Oct 20 2003, 02:17 PM)
For the record I still haven’t gotten my Xbit to work correctly.

I think the flashing red and green LED means either a bad BIOS and or a misaligned Xbit.  In any event I have flash the Xbit many times over so I don’t think it’s that.  I’m thinking it must be a misaligned Xbit.  However, you would think out of bout 15 tried you would get it aligned at least once.

I’m pissed because I can’t get this damn thing to work?

I had the same flashing red and green lights..So I flasf the bios again and now it works. What I was doing wrong was I was setting the dip switches wrong. You have to make sure you are setting them according to the bios number in the different banks and not off the numbers at the top of the xbit gui.If that makes any sense at all..M

If you have version 1.4 or 1.5 you have to use the M7 bios.

There's a BIOS comparison link on the main page.  M7 has all the stuff you want no matter which version you have.  There's also a link on the main page for xbox versions.

You only need the USB connection to flash the BIOS.

Green light = good.  Chip is enabled and connected properly.

just got this from the XBIT SITE!

The X-B.I.T LED indicates the current condition of the XBox:
- The X-B.I.T LED is "on" (glowing) when the XBox bootet from a patched (non-original) Bios
- The X-B.I.T LED is "off" (not glowing) when the XBox bootet from the original bios.
