X-bit Install On V1.5 Xbox
« on: October 11, 2003, 02:40:00 AM »

yes it does work on a 1.5 but you will have to solder a couple of wires (a power and a ground i believe) 1.4's dont need the extra wires, so if the idea of soldering your xbox scares the shit out of you then this might be better for you! both of them require the evox m7 bios to work though!! (at the mo)

Oh I see, Im not scared of soldering, done it with my ps2 but I would prefer not having to solder. I live in the UK so do you think that maybe the stores dont have the v1.5 XBOX yet? Do you think that the DMS team would bring out an update in the XBIT that provides a complete solderless solution for the v1.5 XBOXs?
Thanks

an update isn't possible without expanding the chip across a much larger space on the PCB. there isn't really a power point in the direct area around it that could be used with a pogo pin.

Sorry for the multiple posts. Really, there are no 1.5s in the UK yet, thats good news. Does the manufacturing date apply to the UK XBOXs then? After August 1st 2003 = v1.5, or will I not find any XBOXs made after August 1st 2003 in the UK? Thanks everyone for all your posts.

my store doesn't have one in stock and i haven't gotten one to mod it yet so i think they're not here for now. anyway the manufacture date of your xbox is way before the 1.5

I looked again yesterday to my box and it was manufactured at August ,6th , 2003, so it might be a 1.5 Box!

I bought the "action Pack" at EB which includes Splinter Cell and Brute Force for together 249 €uro.
