Matrix Chip On A 1.0 Problem

Hey, a guy brought in a 1.0 Xbox to me modded with an old solderless Matrix chip, and it's modded with Evox 3935 Slayers 2.6.  It boots up fine, but when he goes to load one of his games, it just sits there loading and goes back to the main screen.  Same thing goes with apps.  Thoughts?  Thanks

Could be his hard drive going bad or maybe his files are corrupt.
