Update On Help Needed
« on: June 06, 2005, 06:12:00 AM »

So it turns out the dewd that installed the Chameleon (1.5?), didnt take the solder out of the pcb holes (xbox 1.0). He screwed down the adapter and only some of the pins were touching the solder parts. However, even though no LED on the Cham was lit, and only a few pins were touching I was still able to install Evox and play my games on backup discs.

So I went ahead and removed the solder from the holes, then hard soldered the adapter to the board. The first time I fired it up, I did so in mode 4. The LED flashed red, but not in a set pattern. It would flash evenly, then ...stumble... then flash then ...stumble. Eventually it stopped flashing. Even with restarts it never lit up again. Also, it never was able to take a flash, I tried with Evox after adding the extra lines to the ini.

I switched back to mode 1, no lights.

Also, I've yet to see any type of BIOS boot screen, all I have ever seen thoughout this whole thing is MS or Evox.

So, even with the chip not seeming to work I have done the following.
...Installed EvoX 3935
...Installed 60GB HDD
...Played backup games, original games, and HDD games.
...Installed GentooX 3.2 (still updating itself, been 14 hours)

Should I even bother trying to get the Cham at %100 or just leave it?

Does cromwell 2.27 support HDD's over 137GB? I've searched everywhere and found no answer.
