Its unlikely it would. Plus it would probably just be cheaper to buy an OEM xbox drive (phillips or samsungs are the best usually)

It will work and it will work better but will require some soldering.  you can flash the LG 8050 firmware from an original drive directly to it as well.  check for the tutorial it is somewere but it will work like a OEM xbox DVD-ROM.  I would like to have one of those drives myself but cant find one.
