I would be putting my 12v 40mm fan on the underside opening of my hd tray but the current hd im using has an outer rubber coating sleeve so that wouldnt really do any good.

So what could I do with an extra 12v clear 40mm fan? (I have 2, 1 with a molex connector, one with just 2 wires hanging out of it...)

Other than put it where the jewel is... cuz that's ultimately pointless...

Rip the fan apart so you only have the motor with the blades attached. Snap off the blades. Make sure your jewel is uncleared. Remove your jewel. Attach the motor to the back of the jewel with superglue. You might need some custom made part to get it spinning good but there, you have a spinning jewel.

Ok, I just finished putting in the blue 4 led 80mm 12v fan in the back, blowing out, and the 12v 40mm fan on the front left side, where the metal grating is (i cut out a square would it would fit in, then used twist ties to put it in.). It's all together and running on the Evox dash.

These are the system temps after 20 mins of running.
CPU - 135.9 F
MB   - 100.4 F

Is that good? Bad? Decent? Basically, is it colder than normally?

I would post pics, but my dad ran off with my camera to work, so I'll have pics up later.

After about 40 mins, it's at
CPU - 140 F
MB - 104 F

How's that?

I would use nylon zipties instead of your wired ties. Probably a non issue, but I have always tried to stay away from using ties with metal in them.

agreed.......wire tied are metal as well.......so it gives a slight danger to your xbox as well..... but i can pretty sure you have taken the properrr precaution for that already........i would use plastic zipties..............
