I've had this xbox softmodded for a while and it seems to be running a lot slower then when I first started using it.  I started seeing the slowdown with NCAA 06 and thought that it was a problem with EA programing bad, but then saw that my friends xbox had no problem running it.  

Madden 06 it was hardly even playable on the Hard Drive.. I burnt Madden 06 to DVD and the game ran perfect.  I softmodded the stock 8gb hard drive with Madden on it and it ran perfect also.  

My questions are...
*Is my hard drive going bad?
*I've added and removed a lot of games from the HD, could it be fragmented?  If so, is there a way to fix it?
*Is there any type of files that could be saved on the HD that causes games to run slow.. maybe something I installed at some point?
*Any other Ideas?

P.S.  I tried putting Madden 06 on the F and G Partitions, but had the same problem on both.  Don't know if that matters much.

try clearing your caches and see if the problem persists

if  you dont understand what i just said, do a search on clearing caches


if the games still run slow, then your hard drive is going bad.

how long have you had it ?

maybe your stock xbox fan is going bad? most of these problems are solved by extra cooling.

well, let me know after your perform these diagnostics.
