QUOTE (Vinpire @ Feb 15 2004, 10:19 AM)
i'm a little confused as to your definition of "the names of the games"

it is recommended that you don't use spaces in directory names you put games in, it is also recommended that you don't put them in the "Item Names".

where exactly do you mean?

Yeah, sorry.  Because I don't use RW discs, I asked the question before I gave CDX a try.  I didn't realize people were talking about the directory names.  I thought they were talking about "DisplayName." I have since burned a disc and found that my question was unneeded.  Well, at least the post got this thread off page 3.  smile.gif

Bump.  Anyone?  This thread is 44-pages long and no one can tell me if ALT-255 will allow a "space" in title?

Humm... good question... I don't know really... but we would really apreciate it if you give it a try, and copy it to the box hdd to test it... if it works, let us know...

Good luck!

tongue.gif  I was playing with this right after I started reading the thread, you just have to pay attention to what you are doing!  There are a FEW "gotcha's" but if you have read this thread then you are aware of them!

My question is about getting WMV's converted to Bink or XMV's, Bink doesn't do WMV's and the XMV Tool needs the wmv's to be Ver. 8 encoded any easy fix other then reencoding to WMV/8?

Other then that I'm just using preview images!

Thanks GEM for the site and research!

And a BIG thanks to Vin for the kick ass "blank" skins!!!!  I don't need custom skins just not XBOX.COM all over it wink.gif

GREAT WORK GUYS!

PS: Mods, this should be pinned just for the shear amount of research the guys in here put into this, they contributed alot for nothing and a little recognition wouldn't hurt.  beerchug.gif

all the same I think the Blank Grey one is very classy and I'll be using it till more of this is sorted out!

...also for those that don't want preview sounds but want ambient sounds just use XMV Tool and -v option to remove the sound from XMV's then remove the "PreviewVolume" line all together!

I assume Bink can do the same.. haven't had to yet.. but will soon!

Dude you said "Wizard!"   laugh.gif

Cdx has never failed me yet either dry.gif   does that mxm thing use mxm as a dashboard style launcher, if so then why the hell would I want to wait that long to get to my menu? blink.gif

I've made a CDX multigame disk with Beyond Good and Evil and Fifa 2004 succesfully,  no problems whatsoever.

Are the files patched? make sure all the files are in the final ISO. It is probably a corrupted file.

Hope you get it to work, CDX is awsome.

Ok, I'm tired of rereading half this thread so I'm gonna post (I wish there was a "search this thread" deal!)

I am trying to link my "Mulit-Game disc" back to the dashboard, I was wondering if I could add a "GAME" that would launch an xbe in E:\\Blah\\Default.xbe  I think I've read that it can't be done but I thought I would ask before giving up hope... any way to link back to the dash if your bios is set to boot dvd first?

anubis2k3,

I assume you are looking for the same fix I am... what I have been doing is keeping a copy of UnleashX in my cdx temp dir that I use to make my ISO's so I just run a copy of the dash off the cd, then you can just use the file manager to launch your dash of choice from HD... I have a setting in my config that says "reload dash" that does the trick... also I replaced "nickname" on my skin to say "launched from disc" as to know if something seems out of place that it's not the dash from the HD (since as of now mine are identical)

EDIT: BTW, I mean I add the dash as an option... nothing to do w/ the "B" button, don't know if that was clear enough in post

Dont' know if this has been posted and I'm not going to bother looking for it.  If this is old news then ignore me.

Bond Everything or Nothign will not work launched from CDX unless you use the Ninja.xbe trick.  Thanks again Ninja for fixing XIII and all the other games.  I have tested this and it works just fine through the first 3 levels.

Are you saying you gave up on CDX solely because you couldn't put your own skin on there?  You're missing out.
