Stupid question, but are you using the dummy iso for Evox? I've noticed my Xbox won't read any DVD or CD unless there's at least 500 megs on it, the exception being music CDs of course.

Not sure if this thread is limited to just DVD-R, but what about DVD+R?  I have a Philips DVDRW228 and just bought a 100 spindle of Ritek +R's.  Still waiting for my modchip.  Will these work OK?

If not, what +R media works the best?

Thanks,

John

right im trying to riteks they suck

but im using pirnco.

What's so sucky about the Riteks?   Technically, they have better dye quality than the princos (at least the 3rd generations of Riteks do ... very dark purple dye).

Have burned 50 of them so far without a single failure (well, not one that was the discs fault anyway. wink.gif )

I use ACCU white printable labe DVDs from meritline, get 100 w/cases for $111.00us. Thompson cd-rom, Pioneer 105 burner. They not only work great for Xbox backups, but also for DVD movie backups.

I use Vivastar DVD-r's with the silver upper and purple write side.
I've burned 50+ of these discs and every one has worked.
Not bad for £60 for 100. Get them from here.

Forgot to mention, these were wrote on a pioneer 104 with firmware 1.33.

I use fujifilm dvd-r's on a V1 console.  THey come in 10pks at best buy, and are labeled from japan.  They are actually made by manufacturer TY which along with mitsui makes some of the best media available.  Get them before they are gone, fuji has switched to a cheaper tiawan manufacturer to increase profit.

Thanks for that bigpockets link... 25 discs for £10.... sweet !

no problem. The postage might be a little too much, but just order a bit more items. The postage and packaging was great I thought, I got mine within 2 days. Also mirror branded ink cartridges for epson printers for £2.99 each, bargain.
