Wip Build 559
« on: April 24, 2005, 06:30:00 AM »

WIP Build 559 is out.

New Feature:
*LED settings -See under system settings. You can now assign LED color when the following events occur: ScreenSaver, File copying, FTP Send, FTP Receive, FTP Boost, and when the system is busy doing background tasks. All LED combinations are available, even flashing.
*Added relative path with respect to the skin and root skins path. Use "../" when refering to path relative to the skin. "./" means the skins folder.

Bug fixes:
*Flicker Filter
*FTP Address limited to 20 characters.
*Free space update bug
*Default font and the file manager font should now correctly display characters 128 and above.

Known issue:
*You won't be able to update using 556 and up. Use 548 and earlier version, or whatever it was you used to get the WIP build.

Feature freeze for now.

The FTP Browser is coming along nicely. Just for fun, I tried ftping into my account on a remote server and it logs in but I don't get a listing of the remote account. In the log, these are the last things that are logged:

SYS
215 Unix Type: L8
REST 100
502 ": command not understood
SITE BOOST SUPPORTED
502 ": command not understood
CWD /
502 ": command not understood

I still get the two windows and the transfer queue wondow but nothing on the right side. I've tried PASV on and off, and I get the same thing. Just wanted to give a headsup.

Here is the bug I was talking about with the music player. Instead of mm:ss, it shows mm:s

I dont get that problem sorry

I do have one request though
James can you please grey scale/desaturate the default audio player image because when you recolor it with the new settings you still get a lot of blue in it and it would just look better

see below

I wonder if there is a font it needs that I don't have because you also have the bitrate showing correctly.

WIP Build 559:
Video Mode Region switching (and autoswitching) still doesn't work with M8 based BIOS-versions. I've tested it on the same machine with different BIOS flashed, and Unleash X PAL/NTSC switching works just fine Xecuter2 4983, but EvolutionX M8 fails.
Any hope for this one?

I believe I have located the bug that isaac_24 refers to (missing last digit in mm:ss).
It occurs when the screencalibration width is 606 pixels or less.
The music player has plenty of room to expand to, so it should be fixable :)

Great work, James. I was worried that you wouldn't find time to improve UnleashX again, but then you surprise us once again.  :D
The WIP releases are getting better and better, and Build 599 so far looks to be a nice release candidate for the poor non-WIP's ;)

Expanding the screen fixed that.  smile.gif But of course, the calibration would be way off on my screen now. It had worked fine before though like two builds ago. Thanks [BiA]FRAGMAN.

OK,here's another snapshot of bugs(?):

user posted image

These appear when choosing an MP3 in the File Manager. The Song Title appears in the top oval but not with the Song Album. If you allowed background music and bring up the Music Player, all the information is displayed correctly. The second oval is where the Song Title usually comes out too but instead is empty. Maybe because it's playing one song only.

PS Don't mind the Track time with the missing digit tongue.gif

No problem isaac_24 :)

WIP Build 559 bug:
"Port" mode seems broken in FTP client. I tested against UnleashX 0.36.0620A Build 499 FTP-server, and login works, but when it comes to listing, it doesn't progress. Same problem when testing against EvoX 3935 and Avalaunch 0.47.5. PASV connections to the FTP-servers (minus EvoX - no support)  works fine.

Audio Player bug:

Bring up the Audio Player in the dash, select a song and close the window and the song playing will continue playing. That's normall the way it works. Now if you select an MP3 in the file manager and close the Audio Player with B, depending on if you have random on or off, you'll get 2 different things.

If you have Random on, the song will random when you close the Audio Player. You can select another song but as soon as you close the Audio Player window, it'll do it again. Backing out of the filemanager and selecting a different song or album will random again as soon as you close the window.

If you have Random off, the last song played will play again when you close the Audio Player. Selecting another song and closing the window will play that last song again. The same thing will happen if you back out of the file manager and try to select a song there too.

I didn't go further than that. The only way to stop this behavior is to restart the XBOX (dash).

nice finding! can confirm this. hope this can be fixed soon. i think after this it`s time for a public release, as there are some really great improvements made. the last public version was back in december!

one thing i remember was, that the equilizer shows no blocks in its right corner, although the frequences are there i think (they show up in winamp with my mp3s..)

anyway, i have to say thank you to unleash for his great work again!!
