Just have to say that this is THE best dash... Made it my default dash some weeks ago, for mxm i used preview vids, and just found out that i could use them with unleashx too... But i did`t figure out how... Just rename the halo.wmv to
preview.wmv and put in f:\games\halo folder??? or perhaps rename to something else... how about the intro movies...

Damn i got 4 Dashs on my Xbox. (UnleashX, MXM, Avalaunch and EvoX)
Hardware switchable with an NitroXX. (every Bios boot another Dash)
I want Preview Vids in my UnleashX too but when i rename all my Vids from mxm_ss.wmv to preview.wmv i can't watch the Videos in MXM too.

Any ideas ?

I have an idea O2k
Copy and PASTE

In each folder have 2 copies of each preview video.
So, halo would have...

Mxm_ss.wmv
and
preview.wmv

They'd both be the same preview video.....and it would take up twice the space...but it's not *THAT* big anyhow...so both dashes would pick up EACH video....theoretically

This is the thing I'm trying to avoid. You can edit config.xml or items.xml to point to "Mxm_ss.wmv" instead of "preview.wmv", no need to make a copy of the file. I guess you can do the same with MXM, not absolutely sure though.

If only all dash supports "default.png", "default.jpg", "default.wmv" and "default.xmv", instead of "this_is_my_dash_GameIcon.xxx".

in Mxm in the menu.xml add <media>F:\APPS\preview.wmv</media> tag and tell it to show preveiw vid this will work on the menu but the subs will still look for MXM_ss un least you write out every game

any one know a skin that has vid support ?

I know this ! but i want another way.
Maybe the next Version of MXM use preview.wmv too.
A lot of Skins got Vid support.

The Skinblue Skin looks cool.

Done. And I hope that others would follow suit. All I wanted is to support the "default.xxx" naming convention, it isn't very hard, and would just add some milliseconds to initial boot up time. Further, nobody can claim "default.xxx" as their own

UnleashX will search for "Preview.wmv", "Preview.xmv", "default.wmv" and "MXM_SS.wmv" in that order ONCE per new game/title.

For those still looking to use .wmvs with both MXM and UX, what you can also do is give each game a MXM_Entry.xml (which I do anyway, makes making multigames easier), and just include a tag in there that says <Media>preview.wmv</Media>. Oughta work for ya.

Edit: so that's why I usually read the whole thread before speaking. Too bad I didn't see this before I edited all my MXM_Entry.xmls.

All my MXMVideos are very laggy in UnleashX.
The wmv's running on MXM with no problems.

Whats wrong with my wmv's ?

All wmv's have sound and are on 696 Kbit
