Ok mate
i soft mod and TSOP flash to make cash on the side
The best soft mod i've found is the UXE softmod
it works on EVERY version of xbox, there is only 1 downside tho... its french
UXE comes in 3 flavors, 007 mech assault 1 and splintercell 1
So all you do is google guex.be and translate the guex.be site
After that is done navigate your way through the site and find the expliot you are looking for
Then you may need 2 transfer the save to a modded xbox and then to the memory card
Take that to the unmodded xbox and put it on the hdd [The save game]
Load up 007 [that the one you got aint it]
And then load the "LINUX" profile
Ok now this gets a bit strange... reading french
You will need 2 know your version of xbox [either 1.0 to 1.5 or a 1.6]
Then just click on the appropiate version of xbox it will load on nexgen [i think] using a fonts expliot
Once the install process has finished, you then can re-boot your xbox, it should now boot into another dashboard, and the led should be amber, oooh pritty
Now chuck your crosover cable into the xbox and then into the back of your pc
Set your pc's NIC to:
IP: 192.168.0.1
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
The xbox's IP should be displayed on the xbox screen, if not reboot the xbox and check the xover cable
Open Flash FXP on your pc click on the lightning bolt, go to quick connect
fill the details in as follows:
Server or URL: what the xbox screen tells you its IP is
User name: xbox
Password: xbox
Hit CONNECT, bam, you should now have your xbox on the right and your pc on the left of the screen
Now you can navigate your way to e:\systeme\dashboard\
This is where you put the UIX dashboard
[NOTE: You need to have the fonts and sfx download in the user.interface.x.dash folder or your xbox will give you an error message]
Copy UIX.xbe, user.interface.x.dash folder to the e:\systeme\dashboard\
Rename hackdash.xbe to hackdash.original.xbe
Then rename uix.xbe to hackdash.xbe
Now is the fun part, reboot the xbox, just hold L+R+START+BACK
Bam it may take a few secconds but the UIX dash should now boot
If you go into the HDD menu and try to go to "games" it may crash, cos that folder doesent exist
Ok that shit is outa the way mate =)
QUOTE
I do have one question about UIX and its themes... Do they act and operate the way the original M$dash does? (like the smooth sliding between screens when your navigating).
Well sorta, you'll see when you install it
Need any more q's answered, just ask
Later
EDIT: You WILL need the fixed uix.xbe or this will not work.
UXE uses the m8, so this will crash on you if you do not use the fixed UIX.xbe
