Custom Arcade Controller
« on: December 28, 2002, 09:28:00 AM »

About a year ago I built a custom arcade controller for use w/ MAME. I'd like to use this with my Xbox to play MAME. The controller interfaces w/ a USB port via a J-Pac from www.ultimarc.com, which is pretty much a keyboard emulator. The easiest way to do this would be to wait until XMAME has keyboard support, but that may be a while. I was thinking about purchasing an Xbox adapter from X-Arcade, but apparently the adapters only work w/ their joysticks. The third (and last) option I can think of is to use an Xbox controller MB for the interface instead of the J-Pac.

Anyone tried this yet, or have any other ideas? I'm not exactly sure how I'd wire the arcade buttons to the Xbox controller MB.
